gDiapers

I am so excited about some new diapers that we purchased for Linn that I have to tell you all about. I recently watched a show on TV that mentioned the fact that regular disposable diapers take 500 years to decompose at the landfill!!! Also, I learned that disposable diapers are the 3rd largest contributors to landfills in the world and yet only 5% of the population uses them. We searched for an alternative and came across gDiapers. The are flushable, breathable, and environmental diapers that also looks great. We have been using them now for about 1 1/2 weeks and I am so happy with them. I just wish I would have known about them when Linn was born. After only one week of using these diapers, our garbage has almost decreased by half and we no longer have a stinky and smelly garbage pile to handle. We just flush the diapers down the toilet and the insert refill diapers dissolve just as toilet paper. It goes to the waste treatment facility where it is treated before it pollutes the ground water.

If you by any chance can’t flush the diapers, you can compost the wet diapers and you can throw the solid diapers in the garbage since they decompose in 50 to 150 days – compared to 500 years for a plastic disposable diaper. You all might think that I’ve become a green freak and fanatic but it simply has to do with the fact that this is such a better alternative and there is no stinky smell! The cost is actually not that much more than disposable diapers after the initial start-up kit. If you are interested in more details about the gDiapers, please visit their website.
