Memorial Day 2008
A “Veteran” — whether active duty,
discharged, retired, or reserve — is someone who, at one point in his
life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of
America,” for an amount of “up to, and including his life.”

We celebrated memorial day here yesterday and it was a fairly nice day. Dick and Sandy came down to spend the day with us and I cooked Swedish meatballs. potatoes, gravy and lingon berries for lunch. Linn had so much fun that she decided to not have a single nap the enitre day!!
We went to honor our fallen friends, family and honor our fallen veterans at the veterans cemetery. It was really beautiful and it was decorated really nicely. The day turned out really nice except that the weather was pretty cold and windy. They say it was the coldest memorial day in a very long time. Well, Sandy was so kind to bring down some daisy flowers for me and I am planning on planting them by the house this afternoon. i will have to take a picture of them when they bloom since they are such beautiful flowers.
In loving memory of our lost loved ones. We truly miss you and love you!
