Words
I’m sitting here thinking back about 14 months to the birth of our daughter Linn, and I am so amazed and baffled over how fast it goes. It seems as only yesterday, I held her at the hospital and fell in love with her tiny fingers and toes, her blue eyes, her smile. She is a fast learner and at first she seems scared of trying something but once she has done it, that is all she wants to do and becomes a master at it.
Her speech is developing so fast and she says new words everyday. Her first word was titta (look in Swedish), and mamma. Now I can make a list:
baby (one of her favorites and she says it if she wants her doll or sees other children)
pappa (she walks around crying out for pappa all the time)
head (she says head and puts her hands on her head or mine after singing the song “Head, shoulders knees and toes”)
Ba (means bye and she says it and waves her hand)
Mau (means meow from the cats. She chases them and yells mau, mau)
Hao (means hello and she says it all the time when she talks on her toy phone)
Bama (means Lampa – light or lamp in Swedish. She can’t pronounce the l or the p yet but she tries so I will count this word as well.)
I think I might have forgotten some of the words she says now but I am just so proud and amazed of how fast she is learning right now. She puts a smile on me face everyday. She is my everything.
