President of the United States
As so many people around the world are just overwhelmed by the historical election, so am I.
However, I have a hard time defining the lines as so many others do. Politics in my humble opinion are not cut dry and really transcend borders and well-defined lines. At the beginning of this election, I thought both candidates were good candidates. McCain as a war-hero and an American who loves his country, and Obama as an underdog and an American who loves his country. Both candidates had valid arguments on either side but it all came down to how we as individual people value those opinions and policies. We are all affected by these policies and depending on where on the ladder of wealth you are situated that is what the bottom line comes down to. We all want the country to flourish and recover from this horrible downward spiral. To be totally honest with you all, I cried and got goose bumps when I heard Barack Obama’s acceptance speech and I was totally overwhelmed by the magnitude of his presidency. It is remarkable!
However, listening to McCain’s concession speech also made me tear up and get goose bumps. Here is a man who also loves his country and wanted to make a change. My wish and hope would be that politics would not only be about Republicans or Democrats…. why is it necessary to label just about everything? Well, that question I will save for a completely different topic. I do believe that Obama will do his best to regain a flourishing country. Hopefully; republicans and democrats alike, will work towards the same goal.
