Trondson Compendiary

In the days, weeks, and months that have passed since any signs of life from us, we have experienced tons of new things. I miss talking to you more often than I do but life has really kept us busy. I prefer to drop in now and then with actually something of meaning to say. We had to let our new little family members, Alfalfa and Buckwheat go since they are wild animals. It didn’t feel right to keep them around forever as pets. We decided to find them a new gorgeous home in the Audubon Wildlife Refuge. They seemed to really enjoy it! It felt pretty empty after they were gone so we got a little hamster instead as our new family member. We decided to name him Socks because he is black with white leggings; hence the name! Linn is having so much fun in daycare, and I am very pleased with the daycare we finally found and the daycare lady at the center actually do home baby sitting as well…and Linn just adores her so it is going to work out wonderfully!!! Perhaps, Brian and I can actually make a few date nights!! What luxury!!

Work is going well, and I actually like going to work although the work hours are not the greatest…but then again, not many people get to have the perfect work schedule. In a few months, they are sending me back to school with pay to become a Certified Nurse Assistant; then they are sending me to school to become a Certified Medical Assistant. I’m looking forward to it. I also found out that I might be able to go back and get a nursing degree through work which is sounding very appealing to me. I will have to keep you all informed as I get more details. Keep your fingers crossed!

Brian is finishing up his Process Plant Engineering Degree and has only one more class to go. He will most likely graduate this fall. He has worked very hard to get this far despite his physical troubles with PTSD and excruciating back pain. We are waiting to get a decision from the Veteran Affairs in the next few weeks (or months if we know the VA bureaucracy) regarding his next back surgery. It seems as if they might have to transfer him to a VA hospital and do an exploratory back surgery to determine the extent of the damage. I just wish his pain would go away. No one deserves to be in constant pain for any amount of time in their life.

As soon as the weather decides to turn around here in North Dakota, we are planning on spending most of the summer days (the ones we have off) at the lake with grandma and grandpa. Linn loves it there and grandma and grandpa seem to love having her there as well! I wish you all a happy, warm, and relaxing summer. Until next time – take care of yourselves.
